About Us

Ian Leader

Picture
Ian has a 25+ year career in corporate citizenship, community development and cross-sector collaboration.   So far, his career has spanned a variety of fields including child and youth development, volunteer management, social enterprise and the disability sector. Since the mid-1990’s, Ian has concentrated on corporate citizenship with particular interest in inter- and intra-sector collaboration, neighbourhood regeneration and renewal, and community investment.

Ian is an experienced project and relationship manager and a passionate advocate for responsible business practices. He has worked with and for local government, business, university and non-profit organisations and uses his broad range of experience to work effectively within any sector and in particular, between sectors. His career includes:

·         National Manager, Inspiring Communities
·         Community Engagement Manager, Westpac Bank NZ Ltd
·         Community Relations Manager, AUT University
·         Operations Director, Centre for Community Investment and Development 
·         Director of Employee Volunteering, United Way NZ
·         Partnership and Advocacy Leader: Youth and Children, Waitakere City Council
·         Community Advisor, Auckland City Council

Ian currently holds a number of voluntary roles including Chairman of The Storytime Foundation. In 2012, he was inducted as a Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary International's highest award for services to the community.
